A Gin Cocktail Recipe Book

Over the next few months, I am going to be creating a book of gin cocktail recipes. Each recipe will be submitted by a different brand of South African small batch gin.

There are a number of reasons why I have chosen gin to be the subject of my book, and in particular, gin made by South African small batch craft distilleries. Firstly, as a product photographer, one of my favourite subjects to photograph is beverages. Secondly, I am passionate about all small South African businesses. And lastly, and most importantly, I do love sipping on a beautiful gin cocktail.

About the project

The book is going to contain at least 30 cocktail recipes. Each recipe is going to be submitted by a different brand of South African, small-batch crafted gin. Alongside each recipe, will be a bit of info about the gin or distillery and on the opposite page will be a beautiful full-page image of the cocktail with the bottle of gin.

As of today, 31 May 2021, I have 21 gin brands committed to taking part in the project. I have already received 14 bottles of gin at my door (I think my neighbours are starting to wonder about my drinking habits) and I have received a number of stunning cocktails recipes and I have tasted each and every one, that I have shot.
