Food photography of a Chinese and Sushi restaurant in Cape Town

A few weeks ago, just after our government allowed take-away restaurants to operate again after the hard lock down, I got to photograph Jade Tavern’s take away food menu. It was my first “outing” after lockdown level 5 and was truly a memorable occasion for me. Jade Tavern is a tiny but extremely popular Chinese and sushi take away restaurant in Kenilworth, Cape Town.

The food photography shoot took place at Jade Tavern. As it we were still in lockdown level 3, customers could not enter the shop, but could order from the door. Which was a really good thing because my camera equipment, lighting and props took up almost the entire floor space.

Below are some food photos of the Chinese menu. The food styling was a collaboration between Niqla and Jade, from Jade Tavern.
