Creating flying sushi

After shooting the sushi menu for Sushiart, Gino and I talked about a flying sushi theme. As I love creating conceptual images and relish anything that challenges my photography and retouching skills, I jumped at the opportunity.

Planning

Gino had initially provided me with some flying sushi images that he had found on the web. I then scoured the web for ideas and sketched out a few ideas. And when I say '“sketched” I really mean scribbled as I am a terrible drawer. We planned on 4 conceptual shots. Two were relatively uncomplicated two involved a bit more compositing and manipulation of the photos.

Shooting

From my plan, I knew which shots I needed to get.
